Empowering the Voice of Kansas Pharmacy
KPhA Day at the Legislature
Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Includes lunch)
300 SW 10th St., Topeka, KS 66612
Join KPhA and pharmacists throughout Kansas on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Topeka as we advocate at the Kansas Statehouse to strengthen the pharmacy profession in Kansas.
The backbone of KPhA’s legislative and public policy efforts, the annual Day with the Legislature brings pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists together to engage in face-to-face grassroots advocacy with Kansas lawmakers; filling the Kansas Statehouse with white coats! Inject some pharmacy-filled energy into the Capitol by participating in bipartisan discussions centered around healthcare policy. Meet with your representatives and senators at the Kansas State Capitol and help advance our priorities into this year’s legislative session!
Your Presence Matters!
Even if you can't attend for the full day – any face-time you can provide to help us educate policy makers on important issues facing the profession is helpful. Check out KPhA's Advocacy 101 handbook.
Invite Your Legislator to Lunch
Lunch will be served in the south wing of the first floor from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If your representative plans to eat lunch with you, please register them as a guest under your registration. Guests are free to attend and a lunch will be provided to them.
If you need assistance contacting your legislator, call the KPhA office at 785-228-2327.
Metered parking is available around the capitol complex (Topeka Police watch these meters closely and tickets are issued regularly!) The underground garage (just off of 8th Street) may have space if you are there early enough – just make sure you’re in a visitor area. Otherwise there is a parking garage near 8th and Topeka Blvd. – about a block and a half away – that would provide the easiest access to the capitol for the day.
Please contact Jen Clark if you have any questions about KPhA Day with the Legislature.
