Dared and Renee Price have expanded their community pharmacy practice with the purchase of four locations from Gary Damm, bringing their total ownership to six pharmacies. The purchase became final on Saturday, Aug. 10.
"We are always looking to expand and was told about the possibility of purchasing from a colleague," explained Dared Price, who also owns Graves Drug in Winfield and Arkansas City. "We had several meetings with Gary Damm and decided it would be a good fit for our organization."
The Prices purchashed Andover Drug, Rose Hill Pharmacy, Damm Pharmacy and Derby Drug. They had been working with Gary Damm for about six months on the purchase. Dared Price said there won't be any down-time during the transition.
"Customers can expect the same friendly service they have always received and that is common among independent pharmacies," he said. "The exciting thing is we will be adding many new services that make getting prescriptions easier and more affordable. We will also be offering many enhanced services such as immunizations, compounding, packaging, and adherence programs."
Adding to their portfolio made sense for the Prices despite the current trend in independent community pharmacies closing. "It is an extremely tough market," Dared Price said.
"We believe in independent community pharmacy and the value that it adds to communities and patients. We want to bring many of the services we have been successful with to these communities."
