KPhA Collecting Toiletries for Lawrence Shelter

08/12/2019 5:00 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

The KPhA Engagement Committee is asking members attending the 2019 KPhA Annual Meeting & Trade Show to collect or purchase travel-size toiletries and bring them to the conference. These items will be donated to the Lawrence Community Shelter.

KPhA has signed-up with the Points of Light volunteer organization and can earn vouchers to Disney World that can be raffled off to our members. Points of Light encourages family volunteerism, so as you collect or purchase items, please take a photo of your family working on its contribution. You can email photos to kelly@ksrx.org.

A donation box will be located near the registration desk throughout the KPhA Annual Meeting & Trade Show. Once the items are collected and the donation documented, KPhA will send the information to Points of Light and, in return, receive the Disney vouchers if a minimum of 75 KPhA members participate.

About Points of Light

In his 1989 inaugural address, President George H.W. Bush shared his vision of "a thousand points of light" — individuals and organizations across the nation helping others through service. In 1990, the Points of Light Foundation was created. A year later, the foundation merged with the National Volunteer Center Network. Today, Points of Light transcends politics and borders to inspire millions worldwide.
